Waivers and Free Agency in Standard Leagues (Free & Prize Eligible)
WAIVERS OVERVIEW
Waivers is the time period by which a player must wait before becoming free agents. Players go into waivers when your draft is complete and immediately after a player is dropped from a team. The standard game system enforces a 1-day waiver period during which time all team owners are allowed to put a waiver claim in to add him to their team. Players on waivers are listed with the day of the week the player is scheduled to clear waivers (ie, "WA (Thu)"). To put a waiver claim in on a player, click the "Add" button. At this time you will be brought through the appropriate adjust roster and confirm transaction pages to submit the claim.

On the date waivers are scheduled to clear, the system looks to see if any teams have a waiver claim on that player. If none do, then the player becomes a free agent who can be added on a first-come, first-served basis. If only one team has a claim on the player, then he is added to that team and the team's priority in the waiver order is moved to the last slot (#10). If more than one team have a claim on a player, then the system looks to see which team has the highest waiver order priority (closest to "1"), that team will win the waiver bid and the team's priority moved to the last slot. All players added to your team via waivers are placed in a bench slot. Each team's waiver priority is displayed on the My Team page.

The waiver process begins daily at 4 a.m. ET.

Note: To help prevent the issue of cycling players through free agency, a player that is added and released on the same day will remain a free agent.

Team Owners can make changes to their lineup throughout the week. Players may be moved in or out of your team's Active lineup based on the rules in place for your leagues. In Standard leagues each individual player becomes locked at their current position in the Active lineup or Bench at the start of their team's first game of the day. Once locked, players may not be moved again until the next scoring period, at approximately 3 a.m. ET the next day. At that time, team owners may begin making changes.

ACTIVATING / BENCHING PLAYERS
You decide which players to start for each day of competition. The Team page allows you to analyze each of your current players, review their performance (previous day/week, year to date etc.) and freely move players between your Active roster and Bench. Roster moves involving a player may be made right up until that player's team is scheduled to begin playing in their first game of the day.

When you make transactions, you must move one active player to the bench or to waivers when moving an inactive/benched player to your active lineup. If you make a move that violates a roster slot, an error message will appear, notifying you to double-check the proposed transaction. You will need to ensure that you are moving players into eligible slots per your league settings.

FUTURE ROSTER MOVES
ESPN gives team owners in Standard leagues the ability to modify their lineups for future days of NBA action. This can prove to be helpful if you will not have access to a computer (on vacation, business trip etc.) but you would like to make sure that you are receiving credit for players at each team roster slot. Go to your Team page and click on the links for the date(s) of interest to access your roster page for each future date. Then modify your roster.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that if you make any roster moves in the interim (adding/dropping a player or players) this will delete or clear any roster selections you made for future weeks.

ADDING / DROPPING PLAYERS
In Standard leagues there are going to be many unclaimed players available in the player pool; these players are called "Free Agents". You may want to pick up one of these Free Agents (players not currently on a team in your league) for your elite team. You can search the player pool by going to the Players page.

All Standard leagues (Free and Prize Eligible) will observe ESPN's Undroppable Players list. The Undroppable Players list composed of select elite level players who cannot be dropped to waivers at any time during the basketball season.

NOTE: If you wish to claim a player from free agency, you must have an open roster slot or drop one of your current players in exchange.

FREE AGENCY AND CLAIM STATUS
Any undrafted player is available to add to your team immediately if he is listed as "FA" (Free Agent). Players listed in claim status are locked. This happens during games or the waiver claim period is in effect. So when are unclaimed players locked? Each day, players may NOT be added or dropped on a team's roster or traded, from the beginning of their first game of the day time until the start of the next scoring period. Starting every day, the waiver period within your league (if you have one) will then begin and all players are available to be moved, claimed etc.

HOW THE WAIVER ORDER IS DETERMINED AFTER AN AUCTION DRAFT
The team with the most money remaining after auction draft is complete will get the "better" waiver position. If two or more teams are tied with money remaining, the team that finished their roster first will get the "better" waiver position.

NOTE: Free Agency Auction Bidding (FAAB) is not available in the ESPN standard fantasy basketball experience. To access this feature, you must participate in a custom league.

WAIVER SYSTEM (In-season)
Standard leagues (Free and Prize Eligible) use the following method for determining which team has priority in waiver claims.

Move to last after claim, never reset order - The team which makes the most recent pickup is automatically moved to the last slot.

Waiver claims can be made at any time before the player clears waivers. Any player who is dropped within 24 hours of a game start is not available to be added to a team roster, and will appear on waivers 8 hours after being placed on waivers.

Waivers process daily beginning at 3 a.m. ET.
