J.J. Redick News Archive
Redick (wrist) met with a hand specialist Monday, and it was determined he won't need surgery for the broken hand/torn ligaments to heal, although he is still expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks because of the injury, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Redick will miss 6-to-8 weeks with a fractured bone in his right hand and a torn UCL in his elbow, the Orange County Register reports.
Redick (wrist) hopes to have an MRI on Saturday and is questionable to play in Sunday's game, NBA.com reports. "It's a sprained wrist and the X-rays are negative, so that's good news," coach Doc Rivers said. "But it did swell up quite a bit and it's his right hand. If it's his left hand, he'd be fine because he doesn't have one, but it's his right hand. And we need him. We need that cannon." Redick said he's in some pain, but doesn't think anything is broken. "Where it hurts, there's not a bone, so best case scenario is that it's just a little sprain," he said.
X-rays taken on Redick's sprained wrist came back negative, James Ham of NBA.com reports.
Redick left Friday's game after falling down hard on his back and landing awkwardly on his wrist, Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Redick scored just eight points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with three rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes of action Thursday against the Thunder.
Redick played just 24 minutes Monday, putting up seven points, one rebound and three assists.
