INJURIES

BIG LOUGH O
PLAYER, TEAM POSLATEST REPORT...
Wes Welker, NE WR  D
Welker is set to have reconstructive surgery on his left knee on Tuesday to repair his torn ACL and MCL, the Boston Globe reports.
Spin:
Depending on how is knee responds after surgery, Welker will likely be sidelined for 6-12 months. His availability for the beginning of next season is doubtful, although some optimistic doctors have stated that he could be ready to play by the start of next season.
Wed, Jan 27
Tony Gonzalez, Atl TE  P
Gonzalez (calf) had three catches for 30 yards in Sunday's 20-10 victory over the Bucs. Gonzalez finished the 2009-10 season with 867 yards on 83 catches, scoring six touchdowns in his first year with Atlanta.
Spin:
After 13 seasons, Gonzalez is still one of the top tight end threats in the NFL. A shoe-in for the Hall of Fame whenever he retires, Gonzalez came to Atlanta because he saw a team that had the pieces needed for a serious run at a Super Bowl. However, with the injuries up and down the roster, the Falcons fell short of a playoff berth despite Gonzalez's stellar season. As his quarterback Matt Ryan continues to mature in the NFL, Gonzalez looks like he has many great years still ahead of him.

Houston Wreckin' Crew
PLAYER, TEAM POSLATEST REPORT...
Marion Barber, Dal RB  P
Barber (knee) is active and is expected to start Sunday's game against the Vikings, NFL.com reports.
Spin:
A Cowboys' source indicated that Barber would be pulled if he shows any signs of knee trouble. Even with Barber in the game, a heavy dose of Felix Jones and Tashard Choice should be expected.
Sun, Jan 17
Randy Moss, NE WR  P
Team doctors diagnosed Moss with a separated shoulder after the Patriots' season ended, the Boston Globe reports.
Spin:
Moss first injured his shoulder Week 5 against the Broncos. It's still a question mark as to whether or not Moss will need surgery on the separated shoulder. The good news is that in most cases rest alone is the best remedy for this type of injury, so Moss should be 100 percent to start next season.
Mon, Feb 1
Todd Heap, Bal TE  P
Heap (back/neck) participated fully in practice Friday and is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Colts, the Baltimore Sun's Jamison Hensley reports.
Spin:
Heap will play Saturday, but he was limited to just two catches for 15 yards in the Week 11 matchup with Indianapolis, and the Colts have been pretty stingy all year against opposing tight ends.
