With Chris Ivory (ribs) not playing, Johnson finished Saturday's preseason game against the Bengals with 63 yards on 10 carries and one yard on two receptions.
Johnson blames his 2013 struggles on Tennessee's predictable play-calling, something he doesn't see as a problem with the Jets, according to ESPN.com.
Johnson had four carries for two yards and a touchdown and two receptions for 16 yards in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts.
Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell are listed as even atop the Jets depth chart, the New York Post reports.
Johnson indicated that there was "no hesitation" during Saturday's scrimmage, his first taste of live full-contact action since undergoing an offseason knee scope, the Daily News reports. "I got a lot out of it," Johnson noted of the work he saw Saturday. "(There were) butterflies...just going out there wanting to test my knee out against full contact. I came out feeling good."
Johnson has nothing but good things to say about the condition of his right knee, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York. "In practice (last year), I wasn't able to do any lateral moves," Johnson said. "(Now), I've been able to do lateral moves and stuff like that with no problem. I feel good."
Johnson (knee) has been medically cleared by Dr. James Andrews to participate in training camp, Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports.
