Q: I see more players on the lists than the instructions say to rank, shouldn't I just rank everyone on the lists? A: No, you won't need to rank every player on every list. For instance, in the multi-list draft only 10 AFC quarterbacks will be picked, thus it is impossible not to get one of your top 10 AFC QBs.
Q: What is the difference between the Java and HTML lists? A: In terms of result, there is no difference. Java and HTML are just two different ways to rank your players. Some users find the Java lists a little quicker and a little easier to use, but some browsers have problems supporting this option.
Q: I played Fantasy Football '97 and noticed that some of the point totals in the draft lists don't match my 1997 clubhouse totals for those players. Were there scoring errors last year that I'm not aware of? A: Last years totals are correct for that scoring system, but for the draft lists we adjusted the totals to reflect the scoring changes for this season. The most notable of the rule changes for FFL '98 is the omission of the "negative" scoring which deducted 2 points in the event of a fumble or interception.
Q: What happens if I forget to rank players on the list(s)? A: The rankings you see on a page before you change anything are the default rankings. If no changes are made the computer makes your picks based on those rankings. The defaults are based on the scoring totals for last season.
Q: How does the scoring work for Fantasy Football '98? A: Check out our Scoring page.
Q: I'm doing a single list draft, should I only rank 160 players? A: You'll probably want to rank more than the 160, even though that's the total number of players to be drafted. In the single list draft teams may not select more than the maximum at a given position. Those maximums are as follows:
3 QB, 5 RB, 6 WR, 2 TE, 2 K, 2 D
So you'll probably want to rank 30 QBs, 50 RBs, 60 WR, etc. This will ensure that any player you get was one ranked by you and not a default pick.
Q:The single-list sure is long, and it seems like I might get an overload at one position while not getting much depth at another. Would multi-list be a better option? A: Unless you're using the single-list for a league that held a Chat/IRC draft or have some experience with the single-list format, we recommend that you use the multi-list. Most owners, especially those new to ESPN's Fantasy Football, will probably get better results from the multi-list format.
