A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday that Voynov has been charged with one felony count of corporal injury to spouse, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports. Voynov's lawyer said he didn't want to provide a comment at this time.
Voynov figures to remain in limbo until at least a December 1 court appearance, CBC reports. "His legal situation continues to be somewhat uncertain," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said. "We're kind of waiting to see if there are developments there, but there's no certainty there will be before the beginning part of December. We're kind of playing it day by day."
Voynov's agent will attempted to have the defenseman's indefinite suspension lifted by the NHL, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
