Gaborik (abdomen) underwent successful surgery Thursday, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Gaborik is dealing with an abdominal injury that will require surgery, the Blue Jackets' official site reports. "Marian experienced some soreness towards the end of the season and after undergoing his exit physical and further examination today, it was decided that surgery is the best option for a quick and full recovery," Blue Jackets President of Hockey Operations John Davidson said Wednesday. "Marian will have the surgery and after a three to four week recovery period will be able to resume off-season training."

Gaborik will be examined by a specialist in Philadelphia about possible abdominal surgery, the Columbus Dispatch reports.
