He was serviceable out of the bullpen at Triple-A Memphis with a 50:18 K:BB ratio in 73.2 innings. He'll turn 27 in January, so the future ceiling appears to be very limited.

He has yet to file for free agency, but his two-year deal with the team has expired. Dotel's 1.44 WHIP from 2009 was his highest in a full season since 2000, and his 10.8 K/9 fell from 12.4 the year before. Still, solid bullpen arms remain at a premium, regardless of age, so he should not be unemployed for long.

It is unclear to this point if the Sox will offer him a contract. He was fairly underwhelming after the Mets traded him to the White Sox, hitting .184/.262/.382 in 31 games. If they do bring him back, he would just be keeping the seat warm for Tyler Flowers.

The Sox should offer him a deal before he hits the open market. Podsednik was at times the team's most valuable hitter, hitting .304/.353/.412 in 587 plate-appearances and stealing 30 bases. If the Sox decide not bring him back, he could slide in as a fourth-outfielder elsewhere, or as a leadoff man for a budget-conscious squad.

The move clears up a space on the 40-man roster. Regardless of where he lands, Thurston isn't likely to see much action beyond a limited utility role in 2010.

Mahay was a disappointment after signing with the Royals, but pitched well for the Twins after coming over in a trade in late August (2.00 ERA and 8:3 K:BB ratio in nine innings). Overall he was still effective against lefties (.743 OPS against left-handed batters), so he'll find suitors for a set-up role.

Redmond may not return to the Twins with Jose Morales showing he's a capable backup to Joe Mauer.

Crede had a third surgery on his back in three years in September. He's had each of his last three seasons cut short by back problems. He says he'd like to return to the Twins, but he's likely going to have to sign a non-roster deal and show he's healthy with any team.
