"[Friday] I could not turn to the left or right side. Moving down or up, there was a lot of pain. Today I walk faster, so that is a good sign."
Santana will miss Sunday's start against the Nationals due to back stiffness, LaVelle Neal of the Star Tribune reports.
Santana allowed five runs, two of which were earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out two, but received no-decision Tuesday against the Brewers.
Santana (0-1) pitched seven innings, allowing three runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out six in Thursday's loss to the White Sox.
Santana did not factor into the decision after surrendering six hits, two earned runs and two walks over six innings in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. He struck out seven.
