Verlander (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session Thursday and is on track to start one game of Saturday's double-header against Minnesota, MLive's James Schmehl reports.
Verlander (shoulder) is scheduled to toss a light bullpen session Thursday with the intention of starting one game of Saturday's doubleheader at Minnesota, James Schmehl of MLive.com reports.
Verlander (shoulder) played catch for approximately 10 minutes from 60 feet Tuesday, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports. Speaking of the session, Verlander said, "Definitely felt a whole lot better. There wasn't that can't-get-loose feeling. Arm felt loose and felt good."
Verlander (shoulder) hopes to start next Friday at the Twins, the Associated Press reports.
Verlander was diagnosed Tuesday with inflammation in multiple places in his right shoulder, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports. Speaking to Jason Beck of MLB.com, manager Brad Ausmus said, "There was no major structural damage. At this point, we don't expect him to go on the DL."
Verlander is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his sore shoulder Tuesday, Chris Lott of MLive.com reports.
Verlander left Monday's game with right shoulder soreness and will be further evaluated Tuesday.
Verlander (10-10) allowed two earned runs on five hits and a walk with five strikeouts in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.
Verlander was solid Friday night, allowing two runs on eight hits, he did not walk a batter, and struck out five over eight innings of a 4-2 win against the Rockies.
Verlander tossed seven innings against the Angels on Saturday night, giving up three earned runs, six hits and three walks while striking out four in a losing effort.
