Nationals manager Matt Williams acknowledged on Wednesday that Zimmerman would continue getting days off as necessary to manage the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, the Washington Post reports. "Number one concern for me is physical health and the foot and making sure that he's able to get out there and play and do what he wants to do. We monitor that every day and make decisions on it every day as well," Williams said.
Zimmerman, who continues to deal with plantar fasciitis, is out of the lineup Wednesday, MASN's Dan Kolko reports.
Zimmerman is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees, batting fifth and playing first base.
