"I don't think he's real confident on the mound right now, so we're going to have to make an adjustment with Sanchy," manager Brad Ausmus said. "Something's gotta be done, because we need better starts than that."
Sanchez (3-6) lasted just three innings Tuesday against the Angels, allowing six runs, eight hits and two walks. He did not record a strikeout or factor in the decision.
