Bailey's flexor mass tendon surgery was successful Friday, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
Bailey will undergo surgery Friday to repair a torn flexor mass tendon in his right forearm.
The Reds are considering surgery to repair the flexor mass tendon in Bailey's forearm. "It's being discussed," manager Bryan Price said on Tuesday. "With that particular injury, it's one of the options. It's not the only option. As we move forward, we'll consider it as something that would certainly rectify the problem."
The Reds moved Bailey to the 60-day DL on Monday.
A second MRI for Bailey's forearm injury did not show the improvement the team was hoping for Wednesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans reports.
Bailey (forearm) and the Reds remain hopeful that he can pitch again this season, MLB.com reports.
Though Bailey (flexor mass tendon) has shown improvement, he isn't ready yet to begin throwing. "There's a definite improvement from where he was prior to [the injection]," manager Bryan Price said. "But he's not ready to initiate a throwing program yet."
Bailey (elbow) has yet to resume throwing, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports.
