Morton (hip) will make another start in extended spring training before going out on a rehab assignment, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Morton (hip) will throw three-to-four innings Saturday in an extended spring game in Tampa Bay, the Pittsburgh Tribune's Rob Biertempfel reports.
The Pirates placed Morton on the 15-day DL after an ineffective outing Saturday which featured a drop in his fastball velocity. Morton gave up five earned runs with five walks in 1.2 innings. His spring ERA rose to 8.47.

Morton (hip) gave up three earned runs in six innings Saturday, allowing six hits and two walks without striking out a batter, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. "I thought he showed progress as the game went on," manager Clint Hurdle said. "He maintained focus and stayed aggressive."
