Koji Uehara News Archive
Uehara threw his first bullpen session of the spring Monday, CSN New England reports.
Uehara's usage will be monitored closely this season as manager John Farrell said he'll do his best never to warm up the reliever without bringing him into the game, the Providence Journal reports.
Uehara had a lower-back problem that caused him to alter his mechanics and resulted in a poor stretch of pitching last season, the Boston Herald reports. In a six-game stretch between Aug. 16 and Sep. 4, opponents hit .500 off Uehara, who allowed 14 hits, four homers and 10 runs in 4.2 innings.
