The Nationals will re-evaluate Zimmermann's pitching shoulder on Sunday after he got hit with a Casey McGehee line drive during Saturday's game, the Washington Post reports. "We're not going to take any chances there," Nats manager Matt Williams said. "I would assume he'll be pretty sore [Sunday]. He's got a pretty good welt on his shoulder."
Zimmermann earned the victory Saturday as he allowed five hits and two runs- one earned- in six innings to go along with four strikeouts against the Marlins.
Zimmermann logged another quality start Sunday, pitching 6.2 innings of scoreless ball with five strikeouts and one walk in a win over the Mets.
Zimmermann allowed four runs -- two of them earned -- on six hits across six innings in a win over the Braves on Tuesday. He also struck out seven and didn't issue a walk.
Zimmermann struck out eight and walked two while allowing two runs on four hits over 6.1 innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
