Tillman (10-5) was on point in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox, matching a career-high with nine strikeouts while limiting the opponents to one run on three hits.
Tillman battled through less than great stuff Wednesday night to hold the Yankees to two runs on five hits over seven innings. "You know what? It wasn't very good for me tonight," Tillman said. "I knew coming in from the get-go it was going to be a grind. Hats off to Nicky [Hundley] for hanging in there with me. It was a battle throughout, but fortunately made some pitches. Had some stuff. I was able to get ahead and pitch off that."
Tillman tossed 6.2 innings Friday night, giving up two earned runs on just four hits and one walk while striking out seven in a 12-2 win over the Cardinals.
Tillman threw seven shutout innings Sunday to beat the Mariners 1-0. He struck out six while walking none and giving up four singles in the process.
Tillman lasted five innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Angels, surrendering five runs -- three of them earned -- on six hits while striking out six and walking one.
