Manager Clint Hurdle said Marte's absence from the lineup Tuesday was not due to an injury. "Manager's decision," Hurdle said in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I've been trying to get the bench guys in periodically after the break to get them some at-bats to keep them fresh."
Marte is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
