Halladay will have arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Halladay expects to have arthroscopic surgery next week to remove a bone spur, and repair a partial tear in the rotator cuff and some fraying in the labrum, CSNPhilly.com reports. "The doctor seemed pretty optimistic that if what they saw is correct, I could come back and be a lot more effective and have a chance to pitch this year," Halladay said. "He said he thought they could turn back the clock two or three years for me. I thought it was very good news."

The Phillies officially placed Halladay on the 15-day disabled list Monday with shoulder inflammation, the team's official site reports.
Halladay didn't tell the Phillies that his shoulder was sore until after Sunday's start, the Phillies' official site reports. "We're likely to have to put Doc on the DL," GM Ruben Amaro said somberly. "Up until now he hasn't really expressed any discomfort. He hasn't been on our injury report. But now it sounds like we'll have to DL him. Until we do some diagnostic work, we won't know exactly what's going on with him, but clearly, it doesn't seem like he's very healthy. It was pretty apparent with his performance, unfortunately."
Halladay has been experiencing right shoulder "discomfort" since his April 24 start, ESPN.com reports.
Halladay gave up eight earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three in 3.2 innings Tuesday in Cleveland to take his third loss of the season.
