Heaney is dealing with a damaged UCL in his left elbow but is hoping to avoid Tommy John surgery, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Heaney will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection into his left elbow and will not pitch in a major league game for at least six weeks, the Los Angeles Times' Pedro Moura reports. "I'm not hopeful of anything right now," Heaney said. "At this point, I don't want to get ahead of myself. I'm thinking of today and the next day, not a month, two months, a week, two weeks, whatever."
Heaney is seeking another opinion on his strained forearm, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
