Teixeira (finger) said he felt "not bad" in his return to the starting lineup Sunday after missing three games with an injury to his pinky finger, the NY Post reports.

"Probably 50 percent, but obviously that's not going to get the job done" Teixeira said. "It's not the cut. The cut is -- I don't want to say irrelevant -- but it's the joint that's really, really sore. So whether it was sprained or bruised -- we're not really sure -- the joint is really sore. The cut you just wrap and play, (with) the joint I can't grip a bat."
Teixeira attempted to hit off a tee Friday, describing the activity as "very painful," MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.

Teixeira is set to receive stitches in his left pinky finger, which will cause him to miss Thursday's game, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports. However, X-rays on the finger came back negative.
Teixeira (illness) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers.
