D-Backs manager Kirk Gibson said that he is not planning on removing Putz from the closer role at this time, the Arizona Republic reports. "Not right now," Gibson said when asked if he'd considered removing Putz from the role. "We just lost the game. He feels as bad as anybody. I'm aware of the blown saves. Given that, we've battled back pretty good, (and I) actually thought we'd come back and at least tie it up and win the game later."
Putz served up a two-run shot off the bat of Pablo Sandoval on Tuesday to emerge with the loss and a blown save during Arizona's tight defeat to San Francisco.
