Game Play
The object of the DERBY DAY PICK 6 CHALLENGE, PRESENTED BY YOUBET.COM is to pick the winner in each of six actual horse races that are selected from Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 5, 2007. Players will be given 15 selections to spread as they see fit across the half-dozen races. A player may use as few selections as one per race or as many as 15, but may not exceed a combined total of 15 for the six races. The contestant who picks the closest to six winning horses using the fewest number of selections will be declared the first prize winner.

Races will be made available approximately 48 hours prior to the post time of the first race of the contest. Accessible from your main entry page, all race selections must be finalized 10 minutes prior to post time of each race. To select the horse, make the checkbox active next to the horse's name. Remember, you may select more than one horse per race, but may not use more than 15 total selections for all six races. When you are satisfied with your choices, hit the "Select Horses" button.

Each race in the DERBY DAY PICK 6 CHALLENGE, PRESENTED BY YOUBET.COM has an individual deadline for adjustments (listed above each race description). You must enter the contest 10 minutes prior to the Race 1 deadline, but you can adjust Races 2 through 6 on your ticket (up until the deadlines established for those individual races). You are responsible for checking for horses that may drop out (otherwise known as "scratches") and adjusting your ticket accordingly. Since you are allowed to adjust your entry form throughout the day the contest races occur, SCRATCHED HORSES WILL NOT BE REPLACED WITH RACE FAVORITES. A SCRATCHED HORSE INCLUDED ON AN ENTRY FORM AFTER AN INDIVIDUAL RACE DEADLINE PASSES WILL BE TREATED AS A LOSING SELECTION.

Study up on the races using the linked Daily Racing Form .PDF files (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) or your preferred provider for horse past performances.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top five players who select the most winning horses using the fewest selections.

Groups
You have the option to group yourself with friends, co-workers, classmates, or completely random fans by joining or creating a group. Within each group your entry will be automatically ranked by the number of winning horses selected. Most of the groups in DERBY DAY PICK 6 CHALLENGE, PRESENTED BY YOUBET.COM are public and can be joined at anytime. Before the season has started participants can join any public group with space. If you want to play with a specific group of people you know, create a private group and make it only accessible to those whom you have given the password. You will have to create and join a new group with the desired parameters. Groups can have up to 50 members and you can move your entry from one group to the next without losing any of your total points or your picks for a given week. This is easily done on the main Group Directory page.

There are no associations or substitutions for your picks in the DERBY DAY PICK 6 CHALLENGE, PRESENTED BY YOUBET.COM.

Should a horse race included in the DERBY DAY PICK SIX CHALLENGE, PRESENTED BY YOUBET.COM result in a tie (also known as a "dead heat") for first place, the horse with the longest "win odds" (or larger "win payoff") will be declared the sole winner that race.
