How to Play
Registration
To enter, fill out the free game registration form.
After registering, you are ready to play NBA.com Pick 'n' Roll 2001. A valid NBA.com, ESPN.com or Go Network username and password will be used as an identifier to login to game play, and to keep track of your entry's score and standing. You must be at least 13 years of age to register. If you are already a registered account holder, you do not need to go through this necessary process. If you've had an account in the past but forgot it, here's how to find your account information.
Name Your Entry
After you have logged in, you will be prompted with a screen that will ask you to create your entry. Your entry name will consist of two components: a location (most often where you reside), and a nickname. Once you have named your team, click on the "Submit Entry Name" button.
Make your selections
You can submit your brackets between 10 a.m EST April 19 and the first tipoff of NBA playoffs 2001 on April 21st. During this time you will be able to select who you think will win each of the 15 Playoff series. You can change your selections at anytime until the opening tip of the first game on April 21, 2001.
To make your selections activate the radio button next to the name of the team and select the number of games the series will last using the pull-down menu. Once you've done this for each series, click the Submit button on the bottom of the page.
Complete the Tiebreaker
If two or more participants share a score, the participant who most closely predicts the total number of points scored in the deciding game of the 2001 NBA Finals will be determined to be the winner. Should a tie still exist between two or more participants after such tie-breaker, the participant who most closely predicts the total number of points scored in the entire 2001 NBA Finals will be determined to be the winner.
You will automatically be brought through the process of registering your tiebreaker predictions when you first create your entry and you can change them at any time until the first tip-off of the NBA Playoffs.
Create or Join a Group
You have the option to group yourself with friends, co-workers, or completely random fans by joining or
creating a group. Within each group, your entry will be automatically ranked. Most of the groups in NBA.com Pick 'n' Roll 2001 are public and can be joined at anytime. If you want to play with a specific group of people you know, create a private group and make it only accessible to those whom you have given the group password. The creator of a group sets the group's name and password. Groups can have up to 50 members and you can move your entry from one group to the next as long as it is before the first game of NBA Playoffs 2001. All of this is easily found on the Group Directory page.
