Name Your Entry (Optional)
After you have signed in, you will be prompted with a screen that will ask you to create your entry. Your entry name will consist of two components: a location (most often where you reside), and a nickname. Once you have named your team, click on the "Submit Entry Name" button.

Selection of teams (Available December 9)
Accessible from the "Change Picks" link on your entry page, all game selections must be finalized by the scheduled kickoff of the particular game. For tiebreaker purposes only, you are asked to enter the predicted score for the Rose Bowl. To select the team you think will win, select the radio button next to the team and hit the "Submit Picks" button, as shown in the example below:

CPP* (Correct Pick Points): Points your entry will earn if the team you selected wins its bowl game. The point values change based on the number of people who select each team and are only final when the selection locks at the scheduled kickoff for that particular game.

Correct Pick Points (CPP) Explained
As opposed to simply selecting which team will win -- either straight up or against the spread as past Bowl Pick'em games have worked -- you're now challenge to take into account the CPP (Correct Pick Points). Simply said, the CPP value is the points your entry will earn if the team you selected wins its bowl game. CPP value changes based on the number of people who select each team and are only final when the selection locks at the scheduled kickoff for that particular game. Please read all the details below as it's important to understand how everything works in order to win the game.

Each team has a corresponding CPP value -- as shown in the example above -- and works as the inverse of the percentage selected by all the Bowl Pick'em entrants. This means if 65% of the entrants select Florida State to beat Virginia Tech in the Gator Bowl the Seminoles corresponding CPP value would be (100-65) 35 points. The lower the CPP value is, the more Bowl Pick'em entrants think that team is going to win the game.

The CPP values fluctuate based upon how many entrants are selecting each team to win and are only final when the game locks. The values will be updated periodically (about once an hour) so it's best to check back often to see if the CPP values has changed from the value you select each one at. Since the objective of the game is to accumulate the most points, selecting the "favorite" in each game isn't necessarily the best strategy. Instead, you need to gauge how likely the team is to win based upon the current CPP value.

Example: You first create your entry on December 9th and select Florida State with a CPP of 35. You're comfortable with earning 35 points for this game as you're pretty sure Florida State will win. However, you sign back in on December 20th and see their CPP has now changed to 27. At this point you start to think Virginia Tech could pull of the upset and like the prospect of getting 73 points if they win so you change your selection and take the Hokies. Between this time and the game lock time many entrants continue to select Florida State to win, thus lowering the Seminoles CPP and increasing the Hokies. The game locks with the CPP ratio of Florida State 20, Virginia Tech 80. As opposed to getting the CPP where you selected it -- at 73 -- you get it at the value it was currently at when the game locked, which in this example is 80.

Of course this example could work the other way, that is once you selected Virginia Tech at 73, other entrants could have thought the same thing thus moving their CPP back down to 65. So the lesson here is it's best to check back often to see where the current CPP value is.

Note: The combined CPP values between the two teams will always equal 99, not 100, due to fractions of percentages (which are not displayed). The decimal place will NOT be carried out to determine your final score or overall winner.

Groups
You have the option to group yourself with friends, co-workers or completely random fans by joining or creating a group. All groups are joined or created in the Group Directory, which is accessible from the "Join a Group" link on the front and entry page. From the Group Directory use the filters or search box to find a group whose parameters (space/access) you like, and click on its name. If the group is not full (50 entries is the maximum), you will have the option to join it by clicking on the "Join this Group" button on the bottom of the page. Private groups will require a password to join.

Within the group your entry will be automatically ranked. Groups can have up to 50 members and you can move your entry from one group to the next. Prizes are not awarded to group winners.
